English comedian, musician and TV personality Bill Bailey returns to Australia this October and November for a 23-date 'Earl of Whimsy' tour.
October will see Bill performing at Perth's Riverside Theatre, Darwin Entertainment Centre, Cairns Convention Centre, Townsville Entertainment & Convention Centre, Toowoomba's Empire Theatres, Brisbane's QPAC Concert Hall, the Gold Coast's The Star and Rockhampton's Pilbeam Theatre.
The November dates include performances at Hamer Hall in Melbourne, Costa Hall in Geelong, Wollongong Town Hall, Royal Theatre in Canberra, Wrest Point Entertainment Centre in Hobart, The Albert Hall Convention Centre in Launceston, Adelaide Entertainment Centre, Newcastle Entertainment Centre, Sydney Opera House and State Theatre.
Apart from the Aussie shows, he has also locked in a series of NZ dates to entertain his Kiwi fans. He'll be playing Dunedin's Regent Theatre, Christchurch's Horncastle Arena, Mt Maunganui's Bay Dreams at Bay Park, Hamilton's Claudelands Arena, New Plymouth's TSB Theatre, Auckland's ASB Theatre and Wellington's Michael Fowler Centre this September until the first day of October.
Bill will be showcasing his trademark blend of satire and surrealism, stories and dismantled jokes, crowd sing-alongs, weird instruments and musical showstoppers. In addition, the show also features a distinctly historical aspect. With its tales of Britain’s fortunes past and present, of ancient Viking battles, of Shakespeare’s contribution to comedy, and Bill’s own ancestry, this is both a mockery and a celebration of national identity.
