A fantastic afternoon of jazz, gypsy and world music played by Julian Ferraretto on his magic violin and joined by a group of great musicians. Julian Ferraretto is an internationally acclaimed violinist appeals to all music lovers, be it classical, jazz, world music or just music.
As a boy, Julian was inspired by Stefan Grappelli the famous gypsy-jazz French violinist. As a performer, he brings the same joyous rhythm to his music. This concert will be a delightful way to spend an autumn Sunday afternoon.
In 2002, with his violin under his arm and hope in his heart, Julian Ferraretto set off to London. He was a great success, being invited to play his violin with top groups throughout Europe and the UK, including the North Sea Jazz Festival, Montreux and the London Jazz Festival.
Julian returned to Adelaide hitting the ground running while continuing to maintain his international connections. Here he plays his violin everywhere - WomAdelaide, clubs, theatres, pubs, Festival Theatre Centre, Adelaide Town Hall, St Peters Cathedral.
On 24 May it brings Julian and his Quartet to Elder Hall. All proceeds go to Radio 5mbs Adelaide’s Fine Music station.
