The Suburbs set will feature some classics plus a fair bit of spoken word. "Poetry and the spoken word monologues work well in the intimate space of the Django, but don’t worry if you’re a har-core Suburbs fan, Girls Wank and many other rock tracks will be on the set-list too."
Nicole Warner has many times sung back-up for husband, Dave "Suburban Boy" Warner, and has several times opened the show with a few numbers of her own but for this show she will be sharing the bill. The gig marks the release of her second single 'Forever and a Day' the title track of her debut album due out end of March.
Even though his own material can be anarchic and in-your-face, the thirteen songs Dave and collaborator Martin wrote for Nicole's album are mainly country and country-pop. Dave and Nicole will also perform a couple of duets in Nicole's set. "Hopefully we'll be channelling Lee Hazelwood and Nancy Sinatra," said Nicole, "but hey, if it turns out more like Sonny and Cher, that’ll still be fun."
Martin Cilia, Bill Beare, Janette Buckingham and Lloyd Gyi will be in the Nicole band, with Tony Durant joining for Dave's set.
